30 Days of Wincest ► Day 17: Favorite reunion
Look at Sam in the top gif, how he stares at Dean and then his eyes flicker over to Bobby. That moment absolutely killed me, because it’s like he’s saying, How could you do this to me? Bobby, of all people, should know better than to play a trick this cruel.
Then Dean, in the bottom one. He always closes his eyes when he hugs Sam after they haven’t seen each other in a while. And it’s always right before he lets go, as if he’s capturing the sensation behind his eyelids, in the darkness. A feeling that is beyond looking and seeing: it’s just knowing.
"You’re trembling, but he reaches over and he touches you, like a prayer for which no words exist, and you feel your heart taking root in your body, like you’ve discovered something you don’t even have a name for.”
- Richard Siken
This woman deserves a round of applause and a throne of gold. This is the most realistic & amazing thing for someone to say for this generation of students. I wasn’t able to go to college this year because my parents can’t afford to send me and I had every scholarship, grant, loan known to man and it still wouldn’t work. Finally someone gets it!
WHAT DOES IT TAKE FOR PEOPLE TO REALIZE THIS?!
SO MANY OTHER COUNTRIES EITHER PAY FOR THEIR POPULATIONS’ EDUCATION OR JUST WRITE OFF THE BILL IF DOESN’T GET PAID FOR.
THE WAY THE AMERICAN EDUCATION SYSTEM WORKS IS BACKWARDS AND MANGLED.
So I was rewatching this episode and I saw something I didn’t notice before… Look at Dean’s face during this scene. It is a myriad of emotion. In that fourth gif it’s only when Cas is actually looking at him that Dean puts on this fake smile (and he’s hardly trying to look happy… it doesn’t reach his eyes at all). But it’s whenever Cas isn’t looking that Dean shows how he really feels. Just look at that last gif. Dean blinks and his smile dissolves. When Cas opens the car door, Dean isn’t even looking at him anymore, because he can’t stand to watch Cas walk away again. Misha was told to play the jilted lover in this episode and I think Jensen is really playing off of that really well. He’s playing the unrequited lover. Because Dean doesn’t understand that someone as pure as Cas could ever love him. So Dean feels like he’s pining for something that’s outside his grasp when all along Cas has never been more than an arm’s length away. And that’s what makes this so sad, because they both don’t want to say goodbye but neither has the courage to say it.
